Refund & Cancellation Policy

ASSET Refund, Cancellation & Course Completion Policy
1. Scope of This Policy
This Refund, Cancellation and Course Completion Policy applies to all ASSET training courses, including:
Online courses
Blended learning courses
Practical training sessions
In-person classroom or workshop courses
Assessment and certification activities
ASSET training may include online theory, practical attendance, assessment, and certification. Where a course requires both online and practical components, the learner must complete all required parts before certification can be issued.
2. Payment Terms
All course fees must be paid in full before access to the course, attendance at classroom training, or participation in practical assessment is permitted.
Where ASSET accepts a deposit to reserve a course place, the remaining balance must be paid by the due date stated on the booking confirmation or invoice. ASSET reserves the right to refuse attendance, access, assessment, or certification where course fees remain unpaid.
3. Online Course Access and Refunds
ASSET online courses are digital training products. Once a learner has been granted access to the online course platform, learning materials, downloads, assessments, or restricted course content, the course is considered delivered.
Refunds for online courses may only be considered where:
The learner has not accessed, started, downloaded, or viewed the course materials; and
The refund request is made within 14 days of purchase; or
A verified technical issue prevents access and ASSET is unable to resolve the issue within a reasonable time.
Once a learner has accessed the online course materials, started the training, downloaded documents, viewed lessons, or commenced assessments, the course fee becomes non-refundable.
At checkout, learners may be required to confirm that they agree to immediate access to the digital course content and acknowledge that they lose the right to cancel once access begins.
4. Course Completion Requirement
Where an online course requires a practical session, workshop assessment, or in-person competency assessment, completion of the online theory alone does not entitle the learner to certification.
The learner must complete:
The online theory component;
Any required knowledge assessments;
The practical training or workshop session;
Any required practical assessment; and
Any documentation or competency sign-off required by ASSET.
Certificates will only be issued once all required course components have been successfully completed.
5. Validity of Online Theory Before Practical Attendance
Where a course includes online theory followed by a practical session, the online theory component is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase or course access, unless stated otherwise in writing.
If the learner does not attend and complete the required practical session within this 12-month period, ASSET may require the learner to:
Re-enrol on the course;
Pay an additional course or reactivation fee;
Repeat the online training; or
Complete updated learning materials before being accepted for practical assessment.
No certificate will be issued until the practical component has been completed.
6. In-Person Course Bookings and Non-Attendance
For in-person classroom, workshop, or practical training courses, full payment must be made before attendance unless otherwise agreed in writing by ASSET.
Course places are limited and are reserved specifically for the learner. Therefore, if a learner fails to attend the scheduled course dates, arrives late, leaves early, or does not complete the required practical training, the learner may forfeit the full course fee.
Failure to attend a scheduled course or practical session does not automatically entitle the learner to a refund, transfer, or replacement date.
ASSET may, at its discretion, allow the learner to transfer to another available course date, subject to availability, administrative costs, and any additional fees.
7. Learner Cancellation
If a learner wishes to cancel a course booking, the request must be made in writing by email to ASSET.
The following cancellation terms apply unless otherwise agreed in writing:
Cancellation before online course access has been granted may be eligible for a refund, subject to the EU 14-day withdrawal rules.
Cancellation after online course access has been granted is normally non-refundable.
Cancellation of an in-person or practical course place is normally non-refundable once the place has been reserved and confirmed.
Non-attendance on the scheduled date will normally result in forfeiture of the full course fee.
8. Visa Refusal and Immigration Issues
Where a learner requires a visa or immigration permission to attend training in Cyprus, it is the learner’s responsibility to apply in good time and provide accurate information to the relevant embassy, consulate, or immigration authority.
If a visa is refused and the learner requests a refund, ASSET may consider a refund where the learner provides official written evidence of the refusal, including:
Embassy, consulate, or immigration refusal letter;
Proof of visa application payment or receipt;
Date of refusal;
Name matching the course booking; and
Any official reason provided for the refusal.
Where adequate official evidence is provided, ASSET may issue a refund of the course fee paid, less any non-recoverable costs already incurred by ASSET, unless ASSET agrees to refund the full amount.
ASSET may also offer the learner the option to transfer to a future course date where suitable.
No refund will be given where the learner fails to apply for a visa in time, provides incorrect information, fails to attend an appointment, or cannot provide official evidence of refusal.
9. Cancellation by ASSET
ASSET reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule a course due to operational reasons, instructor availability, safety concerns, insufficient numbers, illness, travel disruption, equipment failure, force majeure, or circumstances outside ASSET’s reasonable control.
If ASSET cancels a course and cannot provide a suitable alternative date, the learner will be entitled to a refund of the course fee paid for that course.
ASSET is not responsible for additional costs incurred by the learner, including flights, accommodation, visa fees, transport, loss of earnings, or other personal expenses, unless agreed in writing.
10. Force Majeure
ASSET shall not be liable for delay, postponement, or cancellation caused by events outside its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
Extreme weather
Natural disasters
Government restrictions
War, civil unrest, or public emergency
Pandemic or health restrictions
Travel disruption
Power failure
Instructor illness or emergency
Equipment failure affecting safe course delivery
In such circumstances, ASSET may reschedule the course or offer an alternative training date.
11. Course Transfers
Course transfers are not automatic and remain at ASSET’s discretion.
Where a learner requests to transfer to another course date, ASSET may approve the request subject to:
Availability of places;
Payment of any administration fee;
Payment of any additional course cost;
The learner’s online theory still being within its validity period; and
The request being made in reasonable time before the scheduled course date.
12. Certification
ASSET certificates are only issued following successful completion of all required course elements, including theory, practical training, assessment, and any required documentation.
Payment of a course fee does not guarantee certification. Certification depends on attendance, participation, competence, assessment results, and compliance with ASSET course requirements.
13. GDPR and Learner Data
ASSET processes learner information for course administration, training delivery, assessment, certification, record keeping, and communication with the learner.
Learner data will be handled in accordance with applicable European data protection requirements, including GDPR. Personal data will not be sold to third parties. ASSET may retain training and certification records where required for legitimate educational, safety, audit, insurance, or compliance purposes.
Learners may contact ASSET to request access to, correction of, or information about their personal data.
